![]() I would actually recommand playing anno like this the first few times. I do everything as slow as I want/need too. Obviously without AI players i dont have to worry about anyone taking the good islands, or worry about getting behind. What i mean is there are different ways to play anno. We have played Co-op games in the past, but in the endgame phase both of us would rather play alone because we want to optimise and go for as large a population as possible. I mostly play anno 1800 (*and other anno games) without any AI players. ![]() Not sure if its kosher to replay to a 365 day old comment, but i did want to give you my 2 cents. I recommend rushing Enbesa and the Arctic when you can, but leave other stuff like the Palace, Docklands, silos, tourism, and skyscrapers until much much later on in your game, and only tackle them one at a time. However, the only alternative is to try and ignore the DLC stuff until later on and hope for the best, which is basically impossible for the sessions. New players are robbed of this opportunity if they buy the DLC from the start. When Season 3 dropped, I just added the DLCs one by one as they were released into my ongoing game, where I had plenty of resources to learn the new mechanics. Which means new players never have the opportunity to experience new DLC from within a game that’s already quite advanced. However, once you start a new game you have to choose from the start to have it active (and can’t change it later). Sadly, when you first buy DLC you can choose to activate it in an ongoing game. ![]() Yeah, it is really overwhelming to learn it all from scratch. Any other cases, you’re better off starting with Season 1 If you’re just looking for challenge, get Season 3 first. If you’re buying season passes as a whole rather than individual DLC, I’d recommend buying them in order of release. High life is the biggest challenge you can get in 1800 outside of the scenarios and wouldn’t really recommend it be installed from the get-go. Docklands makes the production necessary for the other two possible, so it’s the most “complete package” as far as DLC go. Season 3 adds docklands, tourist season, and high life. Enbessa is the best single new session in the game and the Scholar mechanic that goes with it is a good late game challenge. Season 2 adds the Palace and silos, which are good for min-maxing but again not essential. ![]() Botanica is a nice addition but far from necessary. The Cape is like a sandbox and is a good challenge. Season 1 adds two new sessions- Cape Trelawney and the Arctic. ![]()
